On Getting Beauty out of the Self-Worth Equation
The thing that drew me to fat acceptance, funnily enough, was the fact that for me it very easily became its flip side - skinny acceptance. That might sound flippant, but it was (and is) still an issue for me, how I, a thin person, can advocate fat acceptance (be an ally) on the one hand, and on the other hand reconcile that with my own beauty ideals. I think it is one of the thorniest issues...
